Dock adds a third platform for apps sold outside any store. No store account and no API key: a name and your website are enough. Web Presence and App Intelligence then work exactly as they do for a store app.
App Store Connect needs an API key: you leave the app, generate the key, download a .p8 file and copy two identifiers. Google Play needs a Google sign-in. Direct Distribution needs two fields, and it is the fastest way to a working screen in Dock.
Drop your .app on the window and Dock reads name, bundle identifier, icon and the Sparkle appcast address out of the bundle. It never asks whether you use Sparkle, because the answer is already inside the file.
Site audit, keyword research, Google results and link building never needed a store. Search Console has always been connected to a domain and the audit has always read a website, so the whole section arrives complete.
App Intelligence needs no account of any kind. Search App Store and Google Play, open a competitor's listing, read its reviews and ratings. Staying out of the store is easier when you can see what is inside it.
Direct Distribution is in the free version. It takes a name and a website.
